Stobie, my Black Labrador, provides me with my daily philosophy & quest. While walking with him day along the shores of Lake Champlain, he ran after a squirrel into a maple sugarbush. Stobie was missing for a few hours and I became worried over his whereabouts. He finally returned, slowly sauntered up to me, looked towards me knowingly and sagely barked "Try not to take shortcuts as they most often turn into detours.
